To reach the ancient and historic Abbey called "Pieve di Sant'Eracliano" we should leave behind the coast and the famous city of PESARO. Along the highway that leads to URBINO, for about 12 km at the Cappone hamlet of COLBORDOLO, we find the first indication of Coldelce's Abazia on the left. Going up you meet beautiful country houses and a small village; after having travelled for about 4 km surrounded by greenery, you arrive at a plateau surrounded by a centuries-old wood where the majestic "Pieve di Sant'Eracliano" is located. The property, now disused since the mid 60s, is comprised of a church, with stuccoes and a high bell tower visible from the nearby countryside, a large rectory with an annexed school and at the back a medium-sized country cottage detached from the central body. It is surrounded by 6 hectares of land. The collected atmosphere that transmits this truly magical place gives great peace and serenity to those who approach it. The property is very interesting for its proximity to the cities of Pesaro and Urbino while still remaining in a secluded and sunny location. To learn about the ancient origins of the Pieve, you have to go back to the Middle Ages when the "Pieve di Sant'Eracliano" was the main church in the area and located in a plateau on the top of a high hill, not far from the Castle of COLDELCE that is now no longer visible. From ancient documents we speak of the Pieve from the year 1069 with the writing of the "Parchment of Blessed Mainardo". Unfortunately today the ancient parish church is in ruins but it still succeeds to amaze the visitor for its solitary harmony and magnificence.
